Which finish suits which Suzuki
The Swift is small and practical, and most owners keep it close to factory-standard. A 3D Gel plate adds a bit of depth without shouting about it, suiting a car bought to be sensible rather than a statement.
The S-Cross and standard Vitara sit a step up, and this is where 4D Gel tends to work well, raised, glossy characters that look deliberate rather than flashy, suiting a family SUV that's still meant to look smart.
The Across and a dark-coloured e-Vitara both carry a premium finish well. Black Diamond has the most contrast of anything we make and photographs particularly well against dark paintwork. None of this is compulsory, a Standard plate is just as legal, and you can build your combination on our plate builder.
The EV green flash option, and Suzuki's Vitara versus e-Vitara
Suzuki's current range includes exactly one fully electric model, the e-Vitara, the only Suzuki eligible for the optional green flash, a small green rectangle on the left of the plate reserved for zero-emission vehicles.
Worth spelling out, since Suzuki has, almost certainly without meaning to, created a textbook naming mix-up, the same pattern as Vauxhall's Corsa and Corsa Electric. The standard Vitara is a petrol mild-hybrid, not zero-emission and not eligible, whatever the shared name suggests. The Across isn't eligible either, since as a plug-in hybrid it still burns petrol.

Caring for your plate on a Suzuki
Raised finishes like 4D, 4D Gel and 5D Gel pick up road film around the characters more visibly than a flat Standard plate, especially in winter. A regular wash with plain water and a soft brush keeps the detail crisp, avoiding anything abrasive. Road legal compliance
Every plate we make for a Suzuki is manufactured to BS AU 145e, the mandatory British Standard in force since 1 September 2021: 79mm character height, 50mm width (except the numeral 1 and letter I), 14mm stroke, 11mm spacing, a 33mm gap before the age identifier, and 11mm margins, in solid black characters on white retroreflective at the front and yellow at the rear.
Raised finishes such as 3D Gel, 4D, 4D Gel, 5D Gel and Black Diamond are dimensional rather than a colour effect, so a correctly made plate meets the same standard as a flat Standard plate. That same spacing also keeps a plate readable by ANPR cameras. Every plate we supply also carries our name and postcode, as required.
