What's happening with the Ateca and Tarraco
The Ateca closed to new factory orders in January 2026, and is currently only available from existing dealer stock rather than as a new order. One source has it leaving sale entirely by spring 2026. The Tarraco is also being phased out as SEAT's range narrows. If you're having a plate made for either model, your registration and plate size won't be affected by this, but it's worth knowing the car itself is on its way out if you're weighing up buying another one.
This kind of model run-out is common across the industry as manufacturers consolidate their ranges around electric models, and it doesn't affect anything about how a replacement plate is made or fitted. Your V5C and registration stay valid for as long as you own the car, whether or not the dealer network is still selling new ones.

A mistake worth avoiding
- Double check the registration spacing against your current plate or V5C before ordering, rather than from memory.
- If your plate was fixed with sticky pads, remove old adhesive fully before fitting a new one, or it may not sit flat.
- If you're fitting a 4D plate to a Leon or Ibiza with a slightly curved bumper line, fit the top screws first and check the plate sits flush before fully tightening the bottom ones.
